Abstract

This article consists in presenting part of the data of a research of Master in Education made by the researcher who, at the time of the research, was a teacher of the young students, subjects of the research. The research had as theoretical foundation studies in the field of youth and in the field of education and the emphasis was given to the reflections of Paulo Freire and the Freirean conception of education. The proposal for the study was to expand the possibilities of dialogue with the youth cultures in the Portuguese language classes through the construction of poetic texts. The methodology chosen was the intervention research and the procedures of data collection were the observation, application of forms and interviews. In this article, the data collected in the observations and in the interviews are presented, which indicate that the proposed dialogue was successful and proved to be productive.
