EFEITOS DOS EXERCÍCIOS DE PILATES NO EQUILÍBRIO ESTÁTICO E DINÂMICO DE IDOSOS: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA E META-ANÁLISE

Durante o envelhecimento, ocorrem alguns déficits orgânicos e funcionais. A intervenção mais eficaz para sua prevenção é o exercício resistido, porém uma outra possibilidade, é o Pilates. Apesar das evidências de sua influência nos idosos, ainda não está totalmente elucidado sua melhora no equilíbrio dinâmico e estático dessa população. O objetivo foi verificar os efeitos dos exercícios de Pilates no equilíbrio postural estático e dinâmico em pessoas idosas. As buscas ocorreram nas bases: PubMed, EMBASE, CENTRAL, CINAHL, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, LILACS e PEDro. A qualidade metodológica foi avaliada pela PEDro. As meta-análise foram realizadas pela diferença da média padronizada entre os grupos. Foram incluídos 35 estudos na revisão, dos quais 13 foram considerados de boa qualidade, tendo um resultado significativo (p<0,05) dos exercícios de Pilates em relação ao grupo controle. Assim, a prática de exercícios de Pilates para os idosos, é benéfico para o equilíbrio dinâmico e estático.
