EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AND THE BRAZILIAN SIGN LANGUAGE: CURRENT PERSPECTIVES
Abstract
The present study aims to analyze what studies reveal about the implementation of the Brazilian Sign Language in the initial teacher training courses. This is a qualitative research carried out in the period 2008-2018, in the databases of the National Association of Postgraduate and Research in Education, the Brazilian Congress of Special Education and Portal of Periodicals of CAPES. The analysis of the data collected was based on Bardin (2009). The results indicate that the number of scientific productions on thematic is still scarce and show a worrying scenario, since the way the discipline is conducted in the initial training courses is superficial. We conclude that the challenge remains of providing quality and bilingual education for the deaf so as to ensure and guarantee quality education for all.
